District Convention and Lions Learning Weekend
Due to the current COVID-19 situation. It has been decided that the District A12 Convention and Lions Learning Weekend scheduled for April 3-5, 2020 be cancelled. The Convention Committee will endeavor to refund payments in a timely manner. Individual registrants are responsible for cancelling their Hotel reservation after Tues., Mar. 17th.

We continue to monitor the fluid situation regarding the COVID-19 virus. The following is an up-date regarding the procedures for the District Elections, in lieu of the cancelled District Convention:

LCI has provided instruction of how the elections were to operate with online voting. Since we will  be keeping the same dates for our election there is no need for new nomination calls or extending the final date for clubs to be eligible.  An Elections Committee has been struck, chaired by PDG Jim Hilt and includes PDG Jim Corneau and PZC Jim Rice. PDG Jim Hilt, PRC John Squire and Lion Alan Smale, and have sent emails to Clubs in their respective Regions, indicating the number of Delegates assigned, as well as their eligibility.  Clubs will be requested to assign members who will be voting and submit the names and email addresses back to the Elections Committee by Friday, March 27th. A similar email has been sent to all eligible PDGs.

On Monday, March 30th, eligible Delegates and PDGs will be emailed their corresponding Zone Ballot (in PDF format with checkable boxes) along with an email address to submit their ballot. All ballots are required to be submitted between 8 AM and 12 o’clock noon on Sunday, April 5th.
The Election committee will meet at the Washago Lions hall on the afternoon of Sunday, April 5 to review all ballots submitted and tabulate the results. We expect to have the results confirmed on the afternoon of Sunday, April 5 and will send an e-blast out later that day with the results.

If Clubs DID NOT receive an email with Instructions regarding the pending Elections, please contact PDG Jim Hilt at jimhilt381@gmail.com . Clubs having unpaid dues with LCI, MDA or District A12 as at March 19, 2020 are ineligible to vote and will not receive a ballot. Past District Governors from those Clubs are also excluded.
